We continue our series of inspiring stories today with Alex Sanchez Palomero. Yes, indeed today is a special day as we will tell you the story of a Paralympic medalist in Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2008. And not only that, but he holds multiple European and world championships in duathlon and triathlon.
The story of Álex Sánchez Palomero
Alex Sanchez Palomero’s story begins as a young athlete, excelling in several sports, especially swimming. With a passion for the pool, he perfected his skills and even competed in several national swimming championships. However, at the age of 17, fate dealt him a blow that would change his life.

An unfortunate accident with his motorcycle left his right arm with limited mobility and sensitivity. Still, he did not give up and Alex managed to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games where he won the bronze medal in the 100 Breaststroke. After his Paralympic success, Alex took some time off and decided to park swimming and sport. However, in 2014, he rediscovered his love for sport and embraced a new challenge: triathlon.
It is at this time, when a new element was incorporated into the life of Alex Sanchez Palomero, the bicycle. However, as mentioned above, Alex’s right arm had no mobility and sensitivity. This made it impossible for him to operate the rear brake of his bicycle with his right hand.

Outbraker Brake Splitter & Booster
That was the beginning of the #OutbrakerStories3. The Outbraker Brake Splitter was the ideal solution for him, allowing him to control both brakes with his left hand. The standard braking power regulation system (Booster Function) allowed him to adjust the braking optimally, giving him more control in every situation.
From there, the rest is history and from the Outbraker family we want to thank Alex Sanchez Palomero for the confidence he has had in us from the first moment. We are extremely happy to have this great athlete and above all, with this great person.
